Idea to technology · Prototype · Build
How to turn an idea into a technology: starve the idea of adjectives. What must the thing do, in which room, for which person, with which failure mode. Then build the smallest object that can be wrong.
A sentence is not a spec
“An app that monitors machines” is a category. “A light that is green when cycle is on, with a reason code when it is not, on mill 3” is a technology you can start. Categories raise money. Specs ship.
Tools are not the technology
Python, Next.js, a PLC, a 3D printer — those are means. The technology is the arrangement that does the job. Do not start with a stack. Start with the constraint the stack has to survive: oil, a night shift, a person who will not log in.
How to tell if this is a real job
“How to turn an idea into a technology” only matters if someone already does the work and it hurts. Write the job in one line. Write who does it on a Tuesday. Write what they do when the new thing is down. If the answer is “we wait,” you have a toy. If the answer is “we lose a day,” you have a product problem.
Prototype in the open, production on a domain you own
A prototype is a test you can fail. Production is a URL, a login, a bill, and a person who can turn it off. Do not mix them. Do not call a deck a prototype. Do not call a prototype a company.
Weekly increments you can click. Acceptance is a non-engineer completing the job. You own the repo on final payment. SINLE Technologies LLC bills in USD against a written scope.
What we decline
A brochure with a new logo. A chatbot with no job. “The Uber of” a market you do not serve. If the next step is a system a company can run — with a human lock on money and sends — write.
The steps — do these in order
- 01
Write the job, not the feature
“The operator knows if the mill ran” beats “an IoT platform.”
- 02
List what must be true in physics and in the room
Power, dirt, who will touch it, what happens if it is wrong.
- 03
Build the smallest object that could fail
If it cannot fail, it is not a test.
- 04
Put it on the real job
Then decide. Ideas that never leave the notebook stay ideas.
If the next step is a system you can keep — a prototype in production, a test you can measure, a product with a written scope — write. Nothing is billed before you approve it.

Prototype
How to build a technology prototype
A prototype is built to answer a question. If it cannot fail a named question, it is a first version wearing a costume.
Testing
How to test an innovation before building it
A test is a user, a fake or thin version, and a number. If you cannot fake it this week, you are not ready to build.
Commercialization
How to commercialize new technology
A buyer, a price, a delivery you can repeat, and policies if you take money. Launch is not a booth.
